Ground worm farm construction precautions

According to the scale of farming, large-scale breeding ponds (pits) need to be built, smaller scales only need repellant tanks, and can be fed with honeybees.
(1) Feeding ponds (pits) These are often built indoors or in sheds. They can be used in the construction of empty houses or residential corners, walls, or underground passages, or they can be built specifically to build houses. Specially-built breeding houses should be selected to be slightly elevated and damp-proof, north to south, leeward and more secluded. Feeding rooms should be left and right to allow for air convection. The window is covered with yarn to prevent spiders, geckos or other insects from intruding. Conditional equipment can be added. Underground pooling, that is, underground in the house, excavated a 30-cm deep tunnel, the bottom of the floor was leveled and solid, surrounded by bricks, and the inner wall was smooth. A cover plate is installed above the tunnel, and a movable floor is installed at intervals for feeding and inspection.
The rearing pond is built in a square format to facilitate the separate feeding and management of the grasshoppers of different ages. The size, number and general layout of the pool are based on the size of the breeding and the conditions of the premises. It can be built along the walls around the pool, leaving a walkway in the middle; it can also be lined up with multiple rows of pools, with an interval of about 0.5 meters for aisles to facilitate operation. Can be built along the ground a single pit, pool; also can be built multiple layers (2 ~ 6) three-dimensional pool (federal cabinet). A layer close to the ground, when the terrain is high and the groundwater level is low, it can be excavated 15-25 cm, which is conducive to heat preservation and moisturizing; when the terrain is low and the groundwater level is higher, the potential is 5 to 10 cm higher to prevent seepage. water. The bottom of the pool is compacted with soil or paved with bricks and cemented. The top few pool bottoms of the solid pool can be made of prefabricated cement boards or other materials with a certain wet strength. The pool is made of bricks, 25 to 35 centimeters high, and cemented. A glass strip with a width of about 5 cm is embedded in the upper mouth of the pool and extends out into the pool to prevent the maggots from escaping. It is also possible to cover the pool top with bamboo curtains, planks, iron gauze, cement boards, etc., but leave a 35 cm square window for observation, feeding and other operations.
(2) Feeding cylinders for small-scale feeding, common cylinders that can be used at home can be used. The size can be 60 cm in diameter and 45 cm in height.
(3) Joint-feeding bees and ground locusts are fed together with a feeder, that is, a mullet cultivator is installed in the beehive, and joint breeding is performed using favorable conditions in the beehive at room temperature (34 to 35 degrees Celsius) and relative humidity of about 80%. There are bottle-type incubators, following box feeders, box feeders and so on.
Bottle incubator: mainly used for egg hatching. Use a wide-mouthed bottle with a height of 23 cm and a mouth diameter of 16 cm (which can be placed in the size of the beehive). Put on some holes in the bottle cap. Place a layer of loose soil with suitable humidity at the bottom of the bottle, mix the egg sheath with loose soil, put it into the bottle, add a small amount of feed on the soil surface, and let people hatch in the beehive. Check once a week, observe the hatching situation, and timely remove the hatched nymphs.
Following the box feeder: mainly for the breeding of nymphs, but also can raise the female mantle and egg sheath. It can be used as a bee-keeping box and it is 46.5 cm long, 38 cm wide, and 58 cm high. Nesting boxes are also available. Subsequent to the bottom of the box is a layer of thin wood (preferably a metal plate that is easy to transfer temperature and a layer of bamboo curtain). Following the box's large capacity and easy management, it can be raised on a large scale, but it must be used when the bees are full and in the first spring in early spring.
Box feeder: Mainly used for laying eggs. Made of thin wood, the shape is the same as that of a bee-rearing box feeder, generally 48 centimeters long, 16 centimeters wide and 24 centimeters high. An iron gauze closure lid is added to the box mouth. From the rearing tank, the female mantle is taken out together with the cultivating soil and placed in the feeder, and an appropriate amount of feed is added. Use a baffle to separate the feeder from the bee frame, check it twice a week, observe the spawning, and add water to feed the female mantis. Practice has proved that there must be at least 5 boxes of bees in the beehive to achieve the purpose of joint breeding and warming. The growth period of man-made locusts is shortened, the spawning period is advanced, the survival rate is increased, the reproduction rate is increased, and there is no adverse effect on beekeeping.
