Young chickens drink hot water

For young layer chickens, during the cultivation period, drinking water of different temperatures should be supplied according to the age of chicks, which has a good effect on the growth and egg production performance of the chickens.
Because poultry consumes a certain amount of feed energy when drinking cold water, cold water can be heated to the same temperature as its body temperature. If the chicken is given hot water, the energy consumption for heating is naturally reduced, and more energy can be used for the growth and development of the chicken.
I. Appropriate drinking water temperature range When cultivating reserve young hens for egg production, the chicken's drinking water temperature should be gradually adjusted as the chicken's age increases. The results of the study showed that the age of young chickens and the appropriate temperature of drinking water for young egg-laying chickens were 33°C for 1 to 3 days, 30°C for 4 to 7 days, and 28°C for 8 to 14 days. 15 to 21 days of age is 26°C, 22 to 28 days of age is 24°C, and 29 to 35 days of age is 22°C. By the end of cultivation, the temperature of drinking water is kept at 20°C. Others suggested that the temperature of drinking water in broiler chickens should not be lower than 18 to 20°C, and the suitable water temperature range should be 18 to 22°C. It has also been proposed that the temperature of the drinking water of an egg bred hen at the beginning of cultivation should be close to the corresponding room temperature.
Second, the good effect of drinking hot water
1. After the laying hens drink hot water, they can effectively promote their own vitality.
Test results have confirmed that the survival rate of broilers with drinking hot water is 6.7 percent higher than that of drinking cold water from 1 to 119 days, and the daily weight gain of 119 days old chickens is 97 g. The average daily weight gain is 0.8 gram, and every 1 kg of body weight is added. Feed consumption is reduced by 0.7 kg. Broiler chickens had a net increase of 10.5%.
2. After drinking hot water, the retention rate and live weight of chickens entering the house can be increased, and the amount of feed consumed per egg can be reduced.
The test results show that after the broiler has consumed hot water for 151-450 days, the retention rate of the test group is 4.8% higher than that of the control group, and the egg production rate is increased by 5.4%; the live weight at the age of 64 weeks is increased by 187 grams. The average egg production increased by 4.2, and the feed consumption per 10 eggs decreased by 0.08 kg.
From the above analysis of the experimental situation, it can be seen that the physiological effects and economic benefits of the chicks are significantly improved after drinking hot water of different temperatures at different ages.
