The highly innovative SOMATOMDefinition dual-source CT goes beyond the simple superposition of detector rows, surpassing today's multi-layer CT concept. Its characteristics are as follows:
1. Beyond any heartbeat a. Beta blockers are not required for any heart rate, and dual-source CT imaging is as simple as taking a normal chest radio;
b. At any heart rate, the single-phase time resolution of 83ms provides the user with a heart image without motion artifacts;
c. Cardiac imaging can be performed for patients with arrhythmia and is not required.
