First, the raw materials. Any non-toxic crop stalks, grain by-products, or cotton processing residues can be used as inputs. These materials need to be dried properly before processing to ensure quality.
Second, crushing. The straw is processed through a hammer mill to produce grass powder with particle sizes ranging from 10 to 20 mm. It's important to crush grasses separately from legumes to maintain their individual properties for better processing later on.
Third, fermentation. The crushed grass powder and legume powder are mixed in a ratio of 3:1. Warm water (30-40°C) is added to achieve the right moisture level—when squeezed, it should form a clump that easily breaks apart when released. This mixture is then stacked in a 40 cm thick square pile in a shaded area and covered with sacks.
