The scientific name Inula japonica Thunb. is a perennial herb belonging to the family Asteraceae. Located in the north, northeast, central, eastern, Sichuan, and Guangdong.
Morphological characteristics Stems erect, villous, plant height 20 to 70cm. Leaves alternate; leaf blade oblong or lanceolate, base narrowing, semicystic stems, entire, lobed hairs and glands. Head shape, diameter 2.5-4cm, constant arrangement of cypresses, dilute, solitary, with fine stems; involucral strips lanceolate, multilamellar, outer layer longer, hairy; Flowers yellow, scalloped, apex 3-4-lobed; heart flowers tube 5-lobed. Achene cylindrical, brown, with longitudinal edges 10; crested white, several as long as cylindrical flowers. Rely on seeds.
The ecological features are mostly on watersides, canals, and roadside wetlands; the low-lying wetlands suffer heavy damage.
