Alcohol 3 times higher than 15 grams of breast cancer every day

According to a large-scale survey conducted by the research team led by Prof. Kikuchi Masaki of Aichi Medical University in Japan, women who consume more than 15 grams of alcohol per day are three times more likely to have breast cancer than non-drinkers.

The team conducted a 7-and-a-half-year follow-up survey of 36,000 40-79-year-old women in 24 regions of Japan. During the survey, 151 of these women had breast cancer. The survey found that people who drink alcohol on average more than 15 grams per day are 2.9 to 3 times more likely than non-drinkers to develop breast cancer. In addition, the survey results also showed that the daily intake of alcohol in women less than 15 grams, and non-drinkers have no significant difference in the risk of breast cancer.

Lin Yingsong, a lecturer at the Aichi Medical University who participated in the survey, said that heavy drinking can lead to increased secretion of estrogen, and estrogen can promote breast cell proliferation.
