According to the China Medical News, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine held a report on the results of some Chinese medicine research projects of the “Tenth Five-Year†National Science and Technology Research Project, and the “Chronic Hepatitis B TCM Syndrome Differentiation†initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The study summarized the optimal scheme for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B with integrated Chinese and Western medicine, which marked the first significant progress in the clinical collaboration of national-level integrated Chinese and Western medicine for the development of chronic hepatitis B single disease.
There are more than 30 million patients with chronic hepatitis B in China. However, it has been found that the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has obvious effects, but the lack of clinical research conducted in strict accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine has severely restricted Chinese and Western medicine. The study was attended by 10 hospitals including Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dongzhimen Hospital, People's Liberation Army 302 Hospital, Beijing Ditan Hospital and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Shuguang Hospital. Randomized, double-blind, controlled, multi-center clinical research methods were used. The total number of participants was 320. example. The research was set up by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing to conduct a full-process dynamic network monitoring, introducing third-party quality control research, and the information processing research by the Clinical Epidemiology Center of the Third Clinical Medical College of Peking University and the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University. The statistical processing was carried out, and under the joint efforts of many disciplines, the optimal treatment plan for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B with integrated Chinese and Western medicine was finally established.
The study used nucleoside drugs (lamivudine) and Chinese medicine Shuanghu Qinggan granules and Yiqi Jieyu Chinese medicine as a combination therapy. The results of clinical studies showed that the negative conversion rates of HBeAg (hepatitis B virus e antigen) in the combination treatment group and the western medicine-only control group were 37.9% and 28.3%, respectively; the HBeAg/HBeAb (hepatitis B virus e antigen/e antibody) serum conversion was improved. 28.0% and 17.7%; HBVDé„„NA (hepatitis B virus DNA) negative conversion rate was 75.5%, 68.8% and 57.1%, 55.8% at 24 and 48 weeks, respectively; the reduction of lamivudine resistance was 22.5. % and 13.6%; in terms of the transaminase (ALT) recurrence rate, there were significant differences between the two groups at 9 months, and the optimization scheme had advantages. At the same time, it also has obvious advantages in improving patients' symptoms (mouth bitterness, loss of appetite, loose stools, irritability, and insomnia).
Zhang Boli, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice president of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, pointed out that the subject considered the two theoretical systems of Chinese medicine and Western medicine, followed the theory of evidence-based medicine, and adopted independent third-party supervision to ensure the rigor of research results. Reproducibility has made a meaningful exploration for the treatment and research of chronic hepatitis B in Chinese medicine.
