Distribution of origin: originating from the central mountains of the West Coast of the United States.
Morphological characteristics: Root meat quality. Basal rosette leaves, diameter 10-12cm. Leaves obovate-spatulate, 7.5 cm long, entire or undulate. Inflorescences terminal, about 25cm high. Flowers white with red veins, red or red stripes, flaps 8-10, spreading, 1.2 cm long. Flowering early spring to summer.
Growth habit: cold resistance is not strong. Hi wet spring, dry summer environment. It should be well drained, deep and easy with boulder soil. Hi half shade, but in wet climates, full light. Not very hot.
