Characteristics:
This variety has a total growth period of approximately 170 days. The plant height reaches about 130 cm, with 28–32 leaves per main branch. The leaves are oval in shape and exhibit strong branching ability. Each inflorescence contains 3–7 flowers, with the first flowering occurring at the eighth node. The flowers are white, with a five-lobed calyx and bell-shaped structure. The pods are mainly 2–4 per plant, with a pod setting rate of 33–35%. Fresh kernels weigh around 330 grams, while dried seeds range between 190–200 grams. According to analysis by the Central Laboratory of the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, fresh kernels contain 7.38% crude protein, 6.13% total amino acids, 0.6% crude fat, 10.1% starch, 2.8% crude fiber, 0.8% sucrose, 0.2% reducing sugar, 4.69 mg calcium per 100 g, and 200 mg phosphorus per 100 g. Field investigations conducted by the Plant Protection Institute of the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences showed that leaf spot and ring spot diseases occurred mildly, with no signs of stem or pod disease observed.
Yield Performance:
After several years of trial planting in Fuzhou, Nanping, Ningde, and Quanzhou, this variety yields approximately 650 kg per mu.
Cultivation Techniques:
It is suitable for sowing in mid-October in the central region and late October in southern areas. Planting density should be around 1,800–2,000 plants per acre. After sowing, ensure adequate seedling water and maintain soil moisture during the budding, early flowering, and grain-filling stages to avoid waterlogging. When the plant reaches about 40 cm in height, the main stem should be removed promptly. Once 90% or more of the field's plants have flowering branches, topping and thinning should be carried out, leaving 5–7 branches per plant. It is important to monitor and manage pests such as aphids and diseases like red spot and ring spot.
