Talk about baby eating diarrhea

Diarrhea is a common disease of newborns and infants. The causes of the disease are many. Except for intestinal viruses and bacteria, and infectious diseases of the non-intestinal system, there is a considerable proportion of overeating diarrhea caused by overfeeding.

Dietary diarrhea in children is clinically divided into three categories based on the difference in food quality:

One is carbohydrate over food. Mainly excessive intake of starch foods such as rice cereal, rice noodles, etc. cause relatively insufficient gastrointestinal enzymes, leading to abnormal decomposition of intestinal starch and cause fermentation indigestion, flatulence, severe diarrhea. These children often suffer from respiratory infections or pneumonia, doctors diet as light as possible, do not eat too much fat and protein, the results of the mother to simply give the starch diet, causing such diarrhea. Its clinical features are daily defecation several times to dozens of times, fecal quality is rough, green water or paste-like, amount, foam, acid odor, sometimes visible fecal small white pieces and a large number of food debris Or digested food.

The second is protein over food. Some young parents believe that children's growth needs protein and large amounts of protein foods, far exceeding the physiological needs of children and the burden of the stomach, so the intestinal protein abnormal decomposition, and then corruption indigestion. This type of diarrhea is characterized by 3-5 or more bowel movements per day, a yellow-brown dilute water, and a pungent odorless smell of eggs.

The third is fat over food. Due to the excessive intake of fat (including animal fats and vegetable fats), it is greater than the gastrointestinal digestive capacity, causing diarrhea (also known as steatorrhea). Its clinical features are: 3-5 times a day or more defecation, grayish white loose or paste, a large amount, the appearance of creamy, containing more milk or fat droplets, odor heavier.

Pediatric overfeeding diarrhea is caused by feeding errors. Young parents should be fully aware of this and adjust the type and amount of baby's diet according to the causes. For children with over-eating diarrhea, they should first roughly calculate how much protein, starch and fat are needed according to physiological needs. Scientific adjustments should be made based on the condition and digestive function. In fact, there are standards for the provision of pediatric nutrition. Proteins: 2 grams per kilogram of body weight per day for infants fed with milk; milk for infants, 3.5 grams per kilogram body weight per day. Fat: 4 grams per kilogram of body weight per day. Starch: baby 12 grams per kilogram of body weight per day.

Children with diarrhea caused by gastrointestinal digestive dysfunction due to excessive nutrient intake should supplement vitamin B1, B6, and multienzyme tablets, etc., while restricting food intake to aid digestion. Do not think that children with a diarrhea is caused by bacteria and blindly abuse of antibiotics.
