Can green tea prevent cancer?

Green tea is a popular beverage for Asians. In the past few years, green tea has entered the European and American markets in a large scale and it has an excellent market. This is mainly due to a number of studies that show that green tea is good for health, including prevention of cancer and lowering of cholesterol. However, recently, Japanese researchers have poured cold water on green tea's anti-cancer function, and think that green tea is not that amazing.

According to Singapore’s “Lianhe Zaobao” report, a Japanese survey found that people who drink more than 5 cups of green tea on a daily basis have no difference from those who drink less than 1 cup a day. The report described the Japanese enthusiastic research on green tea, saying that the highest incidence of cancer in Japan is gastric cancer, so Japanese experts are extremely interested in saying green tea for preventing and treating gastric cancer. In 1984, the researchers sent a questionnaire survey to 26,311 residents in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, to understand their health status, including how much green tea they drink on a daily basis. On the other hand, the researchers found from the cancer records of the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Japan that 419 people had been diagnosed with gastric cancer before 1992. When experts compared the daily drinking capacity of green tea with the incidence of gastric cancer, they found that There is no inevitable relationship. Many of those suffering from stomach cancer often drink green tea.

The Japanese study also found that although people who took part in the questionnaire, drinking black tea and coffee are less than drinking green tea, there is no inevitable connection between suffering from stomach cancer and drinking black tea and coffee.

The report said that there are different opinions on Japanese experts' opinions. An expert from the University of New Jersey in the United States believes that the Japanese study “does not count the final conclusion. It is the same as many other reports that admire green tea. It also says that who is right or wrong is not allowed.”
